An immersive, small-group DUI defense training retreat featuring 12 hours of interactive instruction built around the reports, video, testing, and investigative record attorneys actually encounter in practice.
Enrollment is intentionally limited to encourage discussion, interaction, case-based learning, and practical application rather than a large lecture-style seminar.

Practical DUI Defense Training Program
King County, Washington · Private Attorney Training
Legal Limit Consulting will deliver a two-part, practical DUI defense training program for attorneys with the King County Department of Public Defense. The program is built around the evidence attorneys encounter in actual DUI cases, with an emphasis on practical issue spotting, critical evaluation of police investigations, and effective use of expert consultation.
Two-Part Interactive Program
Both sessions are designed around practical application rather than traditional lecture-based instruction, incorporating representative case examples, video review, guided exercises, discussion, and attorney issue spotting.

DUI Investigation
The DUI detection process from Vehicle in Motion through Personal Contact and Pre-Arrest Screening, including driving observations, the stop, officer observations, roadside investigation, arrest considerations, report and video analysis, and post-arrest processing.
Field Sobriety & Impairment Recognition
Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, including HGN, Walk-and-Turn, and One-Leg Stand; test administration, interpretation, standardization issues, and ARIDE concepts related to recognizing possible drug impairment.
Breath, Blood & Chemical-Test Evidence
Evidentiary breath testing, preliminary breath testing, blood draws and blood evidence, testing timelines, alcohol absorption and elimination considerations, and investigative or evidentiary limitations.
Drug-Impaired Driving
The seven DRE drug categories, polydrug use, signs and symptoms of impairment, drug-related driving behavior, the 12-step Drug Recognition Evaluation and DRE opinion formation, toxicology correlation, and the limits of drawing impairment conclusions from drug presence alone.
Collision Investigation & Serious Vehicular Cases
Collision investigation, scene evidence, investigative methodology, causation, and the relationship between collision evidence and impairment allegations in vehicular assault, vehicular homicide, and other serious-injury or fatal cases.
Case Strategy & Expert Use
Identifying investigative weaknesses, working effectively with experts, preparing cross-examination, evaluating technical evidence, and integrating investigative deficiencies into overall case strategy.
From roadside observations to collision causation, the focus is the same: whether the investigative methods, documentation, and evidence support the conclusions being drawn from them.
